If you’re in the mood for a bit of Mexican – read on. El Capo is at the top end of the Northern Quarter, Piccadilly Train Station end. Tucked away on Tarriff Street is this great little place. On the ground floor you will find a well stocked bar (particularly with Tequila and Mezcal – they have a full list of Tequilas on the menu). The bar offers a decent bottle beer offering, with many Mexican brands. They also offer cocktails and wine.
Downstairs is the Cantina, which for me was the highlight. The staff are very attentive and the place has a great atmosphere. You can opt for Mexican Tapas or some great street food options. I tried the Pulled Pork and Chilli Cheese Quesadillas and the Messi Cow – 8oz Argentinian rump steak, both were delicious.
If you have room for dessert (it’s worth leaving some room) try the Churros Sundae, you won’t regret it.
