This is a place I’ve been eating at since at least teenage-hood. It’s 15 minutes from my aunt’s front door and is a necessity for any member of my visiting family to eat here at least once during their stay.
It’s very popular but there is tons of seating and even more upstairs. It’s bustling with a diverse crowd, while the waiters run up and down the narrow stairs delivering the food with practiced steps. The food here is always good, I’ve even eaten here one Christmas, I think this gave me a certain cachet among the staff.
I used to always have spinach Fatayer (£ 3), a folded sauceless pizza, but my son likes meat so my order has changed somewhat to Shawarma (£ 4.50) but I always include a mixed mezze (£ 2.20) which in my opinion is the best bit, the hummus is amazing. Oh and do have the mint tea. It might seem a shame to pass up on curry, whilst on the curry mile but I assure you you won’t regret it.
