In Ancoats, just a short walk from the city centre you will find Kettlebell Kitchen. A cafe that offers paleo and clean meal offerings.
The decor is a mixture between a back street gym (with weights and kettle bells dotted around) and a not yet finished shop fit out (chipboard as far as the eye can see). Don’t worry, nobody was using any of the weight. Although it did have a high number of people in ‘active wear’ – and the majority of them looked like they had been active.
We visited at lunchtime and found a busy place with quite a queue. The service was very quick so don’t worry about joining the line. The menu offers quite a wide selection including pizzas and wraps, as well as various smoothies.
I opted for the KettleBox – here you choose your size (regular or large) then your protein – I opted for the Salmon and your sauce (Sweet Chili). You can then choose your base – I went for Sweet potato mash. Finally when the food arrives you can add salad, veg and nuts.
This was a delicious lunch and we left feeling both full and virtuous – a great combination.
The majority of the tables have sockets and usb connections.
It’s worth the walk from town – your active bit, but remember active wear is not compulsory.
