Manchester Town Hall – A Manc icon

If there’s one criticism I have of Manchester it’s that sometimes it’s hard to find a quiet spot in the city centre. I love the hustle, bustle and music of the city, but sometimes I just want somewhere a little more peaceful to eat my lunch or get lost in a book. Still, despite all the tram works going on across the city, sitting by the cenotaph in front of the Town Hall is one of my favourite ways to relax.

If ever anyone tells me that Manchester doesn’t have its fair share of beautiful buildings, I will always point them in the direction of the Town Hall – you could walk around it every day and see it from a new angle every time. If you want to take a closer look there are also clock tower tours available.

I love how festive and magical it looks this time of year but I have to admit I can’t wait for peace to be restored there again.
