If there’s one criticism I have of Manchester it’s that sometimes it’s hard to find a quiet spot in the city centre. I love the hustle, bustle and music of the city, but sometimes I just want somewhere a little more peaceful to eat my lunch or get lost in a book. Sitting by the cenotaph in front of the Town Hall is one of my favourite ways to relax and while away a lunch hour.
If ever anyone tells me that Manchester doesn’t have its fair share of beautiful buildings, I will always point them in the direction of the Town Hall – you could walk around it every day and see it from a new angle every time. If you want to take a closer look there are also clock tower tours available.
I can see myself spending a lot more time there now that the sun has finally started to make an appearance again.
