Nexus is a really good place to sit and chill, really comfy and peaceful. They have their own secret garden, a weird little place with a pond and a surprising source of natural light for the basement of the Methodist offices in the city centre. It’s also home to Salford zine library, a collection of self published magazines, which proudly declares they do not curate in order to allow everyone the chance to share their work.
They do really good hearty food sandwiches on slabs of hand cut bread and homemade soup. It’s the kind of place that will make you a very fancy hot chocolate with the Rueben (my son) seal of approval.
They have regularly changing exhibitions and often the work is worth a look in its own right. They even sell a few handmade trinkets and cards. There are quite a few arts & craft and spoken word events held at the venue and even evening life drawing classes if you fancy it.
