A short walk from Piccadilly Gardens is the Northern Quarter, which is home to countless vintage clothes’ shops. Some come in the form of large warehouses full to the brim of old clothes where you can always find a bargain if you invest enough time. These are starkly different to the newer, smaller, trendier places, which sell vintage clothes with prices so high that it’s a wonder they’re second hand at all.
My favourite vintage spot, without a doubt, is Oxfam Originals. This well designed shop on Oldham Street sits somewhere in the middle; boasting a small but well selected range of vintage wears that it sells at reasonable prices.
Not a standard charity shop, Oxfam Originals prides itself on sourcing quality vintage fashion, often with designer labels, and selling it for a fraction of the price. What’s more, all profits (obviously) go to a good cause, making it hard to resist popping in for a browse when you’re nearby!
