This & That is, without a doubt, a Manchester institution. I know many a local who would choose this cheap and cheerful restaurant as their favourite place to eat in the city. Hidden down an alley in the Northern Quarter, this small canteen wouldn’t be the kind of place you’d stumble upon but this hasn’t stopped it from gaining a cult following.
The daily changing menu consists of a variety of different tasty meat and veggie curries, which are served with rice and a selection of Indian breads. It would be hard to choose, but my favourites are the chick pea curry, the Bombay potatoes and the chicken masala. I’d recommend getting an accompanying bhaji or samosa, which are also delicious.
Though the food is great, the prices are what make This & That really stand out. From as little as £ 3.90 you can get an enormous plate of three curries and rice, making this the perfect lunch spot for someone on a budget, especially on a rainy day.
