As you may know, Mexico City was hit by an earthquake in September 2017, and some neighborhoods, such as La Roma and Condesa were hit the hardest. As citizens, we are trying to return to these neighborhoods that were hot spots for eating and shopping in order to help rebuilding and fueling local businesses.
And so, I have found a new store! It’s a grocery with no waste, in which you can purchase seeds, flour, tea, dried fruit, candy and some super foods like quinoa and cocoa by weight!
I think that Estado Natural (or Natural State in English) is a great green idea, as you can bring your own jars to fill with any good you need (and have a 5% off your purchase) or take them home in paper bags. Also, part of the concept is that you can actually save a lot of money from not paying for brands of packaging, which I find awesome.
The store is small but really pretty with few vintage objects and a pristine look that makes everything look delicious. Another great thing about Estado Natural is that the majority of products are Mexican, so you can help the national production of great quality products at a low price, while helping the planet with less waste! I don’t think it can get better than that.
If you’re visiting our lovely city, please try to visit these neighborhoods, they have great moments to offer and will really appreciate your help 🙂
