Lalo! is the place to visit when you want to have an amazing brunch, French- Mexican style. The chef behind this spot is Enrique “Lalo” García, who also owns the beloved Maximo Bistrot just across the street.
This breakfast place offers a big variety of dishes, from açaí to Mexican chilaquiles. But one of my favorites, and the reason I keep coming back to this place, is the French toast. It is unlike any other French toast I had tried before and especially in Mexico City.
The vibe is much more chill than other places – you will find a lot of couples, mothers with children and friends getting together for lunch. It doesn’t matter who you come with, even if you come alone, there is a huge sharing table in the middle of the restaurant and you can even meet people here. IMPORTANT: whether you come with friends, family or alone, don’t miss the bread basket at breakfast! 🙂
I love coming here after an early morning workout or a short 5k run around the city. This place has definitely won over my heart.
