I was introduced to this place a couple of years ago by a friend of mine from Milan. This osteria is a witness of a past age from the 70s. It is an easy place, with simple (quite rude) decorations consisting of old prints, formica tables and a dark atmosphere.
Here I’ve found the best low-price food in the entire city – only Milanese food, too, such as cotoletta, risotto, pizzoccheri and red wine. A lot of classic red wine.
I have found in this place the best combination of delicious dishes and cheap dinner for a night with a group of old friends. Furthermore the place is close to Navigli, so it’s perfect for a fun meal before going out.
I suggest you try the cotoletta with boiled veggies. This dish is a thin steak covered by grated bread and beaten eggs cooked in a pot with oil and sage.
