Pirelli Hangar Bicocca is a non-profit foundation which has converted a former industrial plant in Milan into an institution for producing and promoting contemporary art.
It is a unique place set in a giant ex-factory made by steel beams and high suspended metal ceilings. Normally, it is divided into three main areas hosting different temporary installations. Visiting this special space is an experience and I would recommend any industrial-style lover to visit it.
Regarding the art, the exhibitions are made by the best artists of the contemporary art scene and they don’t last more than 4-5 months. That means that you can visit the exhbition several times within a year and find totally different styles.
I’d suggest you visit it during the weekend late in the afternoon in order to have a happy hour in the bar inside the museum; great drinks and a nice view over the entrance’s gardens.
