Corso Como is one of the most popular streets in the north part of Milan, and Corso Como 10 is its most interesting address.

10 Corso Como is a multifunctional space managed by Carla Sozzani, especially concerned with fashion. Behind a separé, deep into the green of climber plants and some little trees there is a bar, a restaurant, a terrace, a clothes shop, a book shop, a gallery and a hotel. The space is settled in the courtyard of the address Corso Como 10, it’s peaceful and with a lot of green, it becomes crowded especially for the aperitif.

This is a worldly popular labyrinth with a wide range of goods and high quality products. The shop has a lot of interesting books and other design products and the bar has comfortable sofas to sit on..be sure to visit every corner before leaving!

Drogheria Plinio (“drug store” but not really!) is a cosy place for any time of day. Pass by for a coffee or breakfast (although not too early!) and you’ll be able to choose from the standard selection of great Italian coffee or maybe choose from some locally named inventions they have concocted.

Pass by for lunch and try some tasty seasonal dishes. They use vegetables that are in season and generally cook something a little different from the standard Italian “bar”. The dishes are good value, very tasty but sometimes on the small side.

Not hungry? Pass by and check out the gourmet range of pasta, sauces, and condiments etc, perfect for gifts.

Feel like a drink? Pass by around 18:00 – 20:00 for a drink and some salami and cheese to get your appetite a moving. They have an excellent range of wine and you may like to take some home with you too!

Dinner? Yes, can do! Again, choose from a “in season” menu, well-priced and very tasty! Don’t feel like eating out? Yes, there’s takeaway too.

Anything else you need?!

Oh, it’s handy to reach too. Just a few steps away from Piazza Lima/Corso Buenos Aires (Metro stop Lima, Line 1).

I love walking. One of my favorite streets in Milan, for a nice walk is Via Vincenzo Monti. I’ll try to find at least 10 good reasons why it can be renamed as “the best street in Milan”  for me:

*1. It is beautiful: with high trees and old beautiful buildings on the side.

*2. It is very centrally located (near Cadorna station) but there is not much traffic, and this is definitely a plus considering that it is located in the very city center.

*3. There is one of my favorite patisseries  (At numer 26).

*4. There are many nice restaurants  (pizzeria da Biagio is one of my favorites at number 28 ).

*5. There is a great hair stylist (Tony&Guy at number 27).

*6. There are two beautiful flower shops and I love flowers.

*7. It is close to the Triennale Museum (modern art/design museum).

*8. It is very close to the biggest park of Milan (Parco Sempione).

*9. There are a few supermarket and biological shops (Centro Botanico, at num 32)

*10. It is very close to  Malpensa Express (train shuttle to Malpensa Milan International Airport).

For all these reasons I recommend you to reserve at least a couple of hours to wander around Via Vincenzo Monti, have a nice coffee or a pizza or just enjoy window shopping.

Open since 1907. I love this place. I love the mixed atmosphere, the tables outside, the fact that it is full of university students as well as normal people or actors, or models.

Bar Magenta is a point of reference in Milan. It is always open 7 days a week and all year long. I was used to work just across the street and I often came here for cappuccino in the morning, a nice salad or sandwich for lunch or a beer with colleagues after work.

Inside it is very beautiful, the floor is original from the 1900′s and so are some wooden chairs and little marble tables. 

The specialties here are Panini: there is a big blackboard inside where you can choose from more than 20 types (my favorite is primavera with focaccia bread: tomato, mozzarella, green salad and mayonnaise). But the cocktails also need to be mentioned: go for a classic: Negroni Sbagliato made with Bitter Campari, Red Vermouth and Sparkling Wine. They also have good beers (bottled and on draft).

The little tables outside are perfect for a beer on a sunny afternoon or a coffee in the morning. Free newspapers and free WIFI are friendly facilities.

It is a typical Swedish bar, colourfully and simply decorated. It’s my favorite place to go when I’ve got a short break at university because the food is really varied and fresh, not to mention the owner who’s nice, young and friendly.

They serve tasty sandwiches and rolls but also Chinese, Indian and Moroccan teas and infusions. But what this place is most famous for, among me and my friends, is the cakes and lattes. The former are delicious artisan and sweet deserts that go from muffins to cookies, but also standard cakes. My favorite? The carrot cake, made with carrots, almond and a smidge of cinnamon. The latter are cremes made with different aromas and milk that each present a topping with a different ingredient and creme to better suit the aromas beneath it.

The environment is lively and if you pass over there between 10:00 and 17:00 you’ll certainly encounter a lot of activity, mainly for students and international young people keen on tasting some fast delicious cake and one of them could easily be me!
