Bar Waverly – My all-time classic

If you don’t know where to go, go to Waverly. The bar is located in the vibrant Mile-End neighbourhood and thus close to the creative heart of the city. The crowd has an average age of 25-35. Ubisoft employees cross the street to enjoy happy hour every Friday night.

The atmosphere is casual chic and relaxed at the same time. I have been here in a T-shirt and shorts as well as dressed up for an occasion. The bar hosts a mix of people that are all game to wind down from a busy day or week. In the weekends, DJs serve some great beats and make you dance on your stool. They recently changed their seating set up, and made room for bigger tables instead of higher tables with stools.

My favourite spot in this bar is the slightly hidden leather bench behind the counter. You will find a small porch in the back of the bar that gives on a round bench with low tables, right behind the bar. If you don’t know it’s there, you might miss it. It is great when you are with a group of up to ten people, as you have a little space for yourself. To top it all, you’re seated right at the bar! They have great cocktails, beer, and will serve grilled cheese when you feel like a snack.
