Located on the corner of St-Laurent and Rachel St, the Big in Japan Bar is tucked behind a red door. There are no signs or markings to identify that the place is there… you only hear about it through word of mouth so you just have to know where it is.
It’s a great bar with a Japanese flair offering an amazing cocktail menu, choices of Sake, Bourbon, wines as well as small plates for snacking. Last time I was there, I had a Japanese whiskey. It was one of the smoothest drinks I’d ever had! As you walk in, the low lighting, candles and music transports you to a time where elegance was the norm. I find it has a very cozy and intimate vibe. The space is one big room with whiskey bottles hanging from the ceiling and seating divided into pods to create some privacy, while being open and visible to all.
I really love this place for a tete-a-tete with friends or for a special date… don’t miss out on this very unique and beautiful spot.
