Montreal’s village wouldn’t be as entertaining if it wasn’t for its Drag Queens. Located at the heart of the village Cabaret Mado offers outstanding entertainment and performances. Every time I had a chance to go see a show I made sure to arrive in advance to get a place to sit. If all the seats are taken, you can stand. The beauty of the show is that it is in Québécois and extremely funny. Even if you do not speak the French it is worth your while for the make-up, costumes and backup dancers. Most of the time, the MC will ask where people are from and if you get a chance to speak out, DO IT! They will most definitely find something to say about where you are from.
My favorite Drags are Tracy Trash, Barbada and Dream. I celebrated my birthday there when Barbada was performing and it was a blast. My vodka cranberry never tasted so good. Shows last for one hour and are sometime offered twice in one night giving you no reason not to show up. You can also visit Mado on Sunday’s for their Electro Pop happy hour.
