Cineplex Forum – Movie theatre

Cineplex is a multiplex cinema chain that offers the latest Hollywood blockbusters, but their venue Forum also features new independent releases. It is located next to the Atwater station and used to be a hockey arena, home to the Montreal team Le Canadien. Now a movie theatre, Forum offers a great general film selection in addition to an interesting selection of off stream movies.

Of course, it is a cinema chain, but this Cineplex location offers Bollywood films, Asian movies, and films that you won’t find anywhere else in town. It is not an art house venue, but definitely makes an effort to get close to different communities and minorities.

Note that Tuesdays are cheap movie nights, so you’ll get a great discount on your admission. You might want to come early on Tuesdays or book your ticket online in advance to make sure that your screening has not been sold out.

Note also that the IMAX room in this Cineplex venue doesn’t offer the real IMAX experience. I’ve seen an IMAX film here, but the room isn’t half as impressive as the Scotiabank Theatre’s IMAX, downtown Montreal right down the street.
