Lili & Oli is a little gem of a café on Notre Dame West in Little Burgundy, a neighborhood institution for the past 10 years. I go in for a mildly bitter cappuccino (comes as a double shot) topped with a thick, pillow froth I consider the best in the city.
Run by two brothers and named after the owner’s niece and nephew, Lili & Oli has familial feel throughout with a no rush atmosphere, music ranging from 70s folk-soul to Beastie Boys. It’s dog friendly and a good work spot. They serve chocolatine million-times-folded with a crusty outer layer and dark chocolate filling.
The brothers are the Kings of froth, they use espresso ice cubes in their cold latte. When I’m all fueled up, I head over to Atwater market for some lunch.
