I absolutely LOVE Prohibition Restaurant. It’s one of my favorite places for a great brunch on weekends. From the outside, Prohibition is absolutely not an eye-catcher. The only reason why this tiny, semi-basement restaurant is always full must be the word-of-mouth it gets from happy customers.
Happily, their name does not mean that brunch cannot start with a mimosa; keep these bubbles coming!
As per food, Prohibition offers a short yet very different breakfast menu – and everything is a guaranteed hit and you will probably discover a few new dishes that will be a change from the classic eggs and bacon.
A couple of good picks would be their lemon and ricotta pancakes, served with a blueberry compote and sugar bacon (shown on picture), or the homemade salmon gravlax, served on a cream-cheese bagel and a tomato salad. However, the absolute-must-try dish is their maple-fried challah French toast, served with fried chicken and loads of maple syrup. I know, it sounds crazy and even a little scary, but trust me: it will be legendary!
