A new place by the White Rabbit family, with a menu by Vladimir Mukhin and Artem Losev, Mushrooms restaurant has been attracting the fashionable and sparkling Moscow life since its opening. This restaurant is one of the best I’ve been to in the city and the cuisine is all about mushrooms. The haute cuisine, cozy interiors, famous chefs and the wildness of mushrooms all mixed together give this place an exceptional taste and aftertaste, so don’t miss it.
As for the dishes that drove me crazy: the Papardelle Oyster Mushroom. I mean the Papardelle itself here isn’t pasta made of wheat; it’s the Oyster Mushroom sliced like a pasta and cooked in a cream-truffle sauce instead of pasta. Extremely delicious. The farmer’s goatling with orzotto and black chanterelles was also very good, as well as the beef ribs with the (poisonous, but with the poison removed) Siberian Amanita mousse.
After lunch, order a Truffle Honeycake; it’s the most different-tasting honeycake you can find in Moscow. As for the drinks, I really fell in love with the Chokeberry Aperol Spritz, which was just so exciting.
For summertime, they have a convenient summer terrace with a magnificent view over Yakimanka street (no Kremlin visible, sorry).
Hint: They have a 20% discount on food on weekday lunches from 12:00 to 16:00.
