For the fans of indie music in Munich this is not a secret: the club Strom is the temple of indie rock, alternative, punk and underground rock in Munich. A bit far from the city centre and in a rather quiet working class neighbourhood (the big market of Munich used to be there), the club is housed in a plain industrial building easily accessible by underground (lines U3 and U6).
A main meeting point for hipsters in Munich, the club follows the rules of the big industrial clubbing spaces: thick, cement walls with metallic elements, high ceilings and darker colours.
The club consists of two rooms, and while the party takes place in the bigger room, there is a smaller one for those who do want to enjoy a quieter atmosphere. This is my favourite place to have a break from the dancing – grab a beer from the bar and enjoy the talks with the people there.
Don’t forget to visit the club’s website to find out more about the different events and guest dj’s – as the programme changes -.
