Fedora Bar – A bar with a lot of style

Fedora Bar is one of the few places in the city center that is not packed with tourists. Even though (or maybe because) it’s so close to Hofbräuhaus. The place has a great easy-going atmosphere, jazzy lounge music is playing in the background, and the guests and service are very relaxed and friendly.

Upon entering the spacious cellar vault with its big central bar and light wooden furniture you’ll feel like you’re in a hip bar in New York City. The paintings and pictures of old signs and shopping windows from Little Italy help that feeling. Also Marilyn Monroe and her friends greet you from the wall, together with the slogan “It’s time to drink champagne and dance on the table.”

I’ve never seen anyone dancing on tables but champagne is definitely a preferred drink here. The rest of the drinking menu is worth considering too: Some people claim Fedora Bar offers the best Hugo (Prosecco, elderberry syrup, lime, mint) in town, while I can recommend their version of the classic Old Fashioned. And their coffee. Imported from Napoli and served in boiling hot cups it is reason enough to visit Fedora Bar.

Since so far I’ve only come here for drinks and coffee I can’t tell you anything about the food (breakfast, lunch, dinner), except that it looks very tasty.

When the weather is nice you can even sit outside, watch the tourists go by and drink some champagne. You can always go back inside for dancing on tables.
