I have to confess that I have been a fan of fish finger butties since I was a little girl. And as much as I like the fish shops with their cooked food and sandwiches at the “Viktualienmarkt” in the city centre they do not seem to have much identity. Unlike the “Fisch Häusl” at the Wiener Platz market in Haidhausen.
The Fisch Häusl version of a fish finger buttie is of course much more luxurious and all other food they offer looks really good. You can eat or have a drink at one of the tables in front of the stall or sit down at the back which I have not done yet. Of course you can also buy fresh fish there and cook it yourself.
What I like about the place is that the staff is always really friendly and up for a chat – and obviously the “Fisch Häusl” is quite popular because especially at lunchtime there is always a massive cue.
