Every trendy coffee place has an Italian machine at the bar in full glitter, with the right name in big letters on its back, signifying style and quality towards the customers. Here comes another place like this but it is different. They have a lot of these machines sitting around because they sell them to the cafés you would normally go to. But why do I prefer going to a place where they sell machines in order to have my espresso?
First of all, the shop is in a neighbourhood that has been the most vivid quarter in Munich for the last 2-3 years. Then it is a very beautiful shop and they have all those very beautiful machines and – my main reason – they also service and maintain these machines, and that’s why they know exactly how to adjust their complicated organisms. And that’s what you really taste. You begin to understand that a lot of cafés run their Marzoccos in less than mediocre condition.
You will rarely buy a machine from them unless you start your own café, but they also sell the coffee beans from the young entrepreneurs in Bavaria that started a new business roasting coffee, like Wildkaffee from Garmisch. And Kaffeekontor has it’s own brand of… no, not coffee, but tea!
