Whenever I find myself in the city center and I am looking for a green area, I like to visit the small park at Maximiliansplatz.
The park is a small area around 300 by 60 meters and people visiting Munich can easily skip it, as it does not look that appealing from the side street. In reality this is a mini version of the English Garden and is a nice place to relax on the hot summer days. Even though you are close to the streets, the trees are thick enough so that you kind of feel like you’re in a large park, although it is not.
As I work close by, it is one of my favourite places to unwind during hot summer days, sit on the grass, get a radler and just look at the blue sky.
Also make sure to have a look at multiple monuments located in the park. From Goethe to Schiller, as well as the magnificent Wittelsbacher Brunnen, there is something for everyone!
The fountain was renovated and cleaned in the winter, so right now is the best time to visit it!
