Ninh is the first name of the owner Ninh Pham vu. He opened his restaurant 7 years ago. It took a while until it was profitable. One reason could be that Sendling is not that famous as Schwabing or Glockenbach. Even for people living in Munich for several years Sendling is an undiscovered place like Mars. Lucky me that I found this nice place to have authentic Vietnamese food not far away from where I live.
I was wondering why they have Pad Thai on their menu. Ninh explained that the Vietnamese kitchen is influenced by its Northern and Southern neighbouring countries. And I must confess, that it was the best Pad Thai I ever had in Germany.
Taste the spring rolls with homemade dips or noodle dishes like Pho Bo. If you like Tofu, it’s the best place to go. Ninh has his own Tofu supplier, who makes it just for his family and only for Ninh’s restaurant.
But the most interesting dish is grilled Black Pomfret with fresh vegetables. A kind of flying fish with meat that looks like Dorade Royal.
For me it was a welcoming change that Maxlrainer is served. A very good and tasteful beer for just € 2.50/half liter. Respect! Best beer price ever seen in Munich.
Ninh brought the Vietnamese recipes with him from Hanoi and they are family secrets. All dishes are very delicious, cheap, well portioned and without Glutamate.
My conclusion: save money for the next Vietnam trip, visit this paradise in Sendling.
