You like wine? Come to Österia and taste some of their 100+ options. You like good food? You should come here too.
Forget the Austrian classics like schnitzel and breaded fried chicken. They serve them too, but I come to Österia for something more than the ordinary.
There are seven regular dishes as well as five daily dishes, which you can choose individually or as a 3 or 5 course menu. Check their website beforehand and make sure you like what’s served that day. More importantly: make sure you understand what’s served that day. The menu at Österia is full of Austrian words even most Germans have never heard of before. Luckily, they hand out one page with the most important translations.
The dishes are very creative, very light and very delicious. Ordering the right wine along with your food was never easier; every dish comes with a wine suggestion in the menu. The wines fit perfectly, even (or especially) the sweet ones for dessert. The waiters with their Austrian accent and charm are very friendly and give information about the wines. And if you discover a new favourite, you can buy all the bottles you need from their shop “Ösiwein” next door.
If you come before 18:00 I suggest you get the 3+3=9 offer, 3 wines and 3 ‘Magentratzerl’ (small snacks) for € 9, or skip the wine altogether and have some of their equally great coffee and cake.
But be aware, no dogs and no visa.
