The Thalkirchner Street is very long, but usually my route, when I start at Sendlinger Tor, ends at my favorite burger restaurant “schnelle liebe” (fast love). But last time, all seats were occupied,… fortunately!
Just a few meters further on was a very special spot, which caught my interest, because it was very crowded outside. A bar called Palau. What I recognised first was that everyone was drinking this kind of wine in champagne glasses. So I had to try this too! The Rosat (typical Spanish sparkling wine) was a bit sweet for me, but chilled it’s very good to drink, and you get a whole bottle for € 9. Imagine, you are in the hipster center of Munich!
What is Aperitivo for Italians and beer garden for the Bavarians, is the Champagneria for people from Barcelona.
If you don’t want to buy a bottle, you just can have a glass or two, which will be refilled until it’s enough. And try those very delicious buns called Bocatas (with pork, beef or vegetables). And I recommend all kinds of Tapas.
Every time I’m there I hear Spanish. That’s a sign, that it’s kind of authentic, if even Spanish people visit this bar. Besides that I like the uncomplicated atmosphere, even when it’s crowded.
But what I like most and what’s typical for Champagnerias, you throw your used napkins on the floor.
My conclusion: iEviva España!
