Dominique Ansel – It all started with a Cronut

There are so many thoughts on the cronut. Is it worth standing in line at 06:00 for an hour to retrieve a personal delight? Maybe for some, yes. After all, anything limited will draw some people to sacrifice in order to claim they’ve had one. For me… it isn’t. I’m not a fan of doing/trying something because it’s the craze. But I AM a fan of amazing bakeries, sweets, pastries and all things to get me my sugar high. 

It has been broadcast throughout the world, but in case you missed it (I know I did) the Cronut is an award winning creation which is a blend of a croissant and doughnut. Amazing! 

Luckily, outside of being the creators of THE CRONUT… Dominique Ansel Bakery happens to be quite amazing at all their baked goods. Even their coffee! In fact here is some praise about the place: 

Named Time Out New York’s “Best New Bakery of 2012” and Metromix’s “Best Bakery of 2012”, all within four months of opening its doors. Today, it is also Zagat 2013’s highest ranked bakery and listed as one of the Best Bakeries in the U.S. by Daily Meal.

You don’t have to wait in a line (only becomes available 1x a day in the early hours) to try the baked goods – that is reserved for the baked good of honor. Anything other than the Cronut is available as a regular purchase. Just keep to the right when you enter the shop, for the purchase of anything else.
