What is great about New York is the abundance of food and a restaurant representative of every nationality’s food at its best. Mari Vanna is a Russian restaurant, authentic and homemade in the style, just like the Russian grandmother you never had would make. It is a bit pricey but the food here is quite delicious.
Part of dining out is the atmosphere. What I like about Mari Vanna is how quirky and unique it is. You will most definitely find it loud, that’s because of the real-deal Russians in there throwing back the Stoli. I really like to impress my friends and visitors and bring them to places that are both good and different. This is one such place. Every week they dedicate to a different fruit or vegetable and try to make it shine for all its glory! Special treats include Key Mondays – you are given your own key in order to enter Mari Vanna… ooh! and Brunch Sundays, check out past events and news where they create another world while you eat, all for your entertainment. MODEL Tuesdays is INCREDIBLE!
Try out the Olivier Salad as an appetizer, which was originally created for the Hermitage and which is very typical, or the mouth-watering eggplant roll with pomegranate seeds. For a main dish, if you really want delicious AND authentic, go for the pelmeni, and of course the Vareniki (hmmm sticky goodness) and order it with a Russian accent!
For extra kicks, try to figure the name out 😉
