I actually used to work at this cozy bookstore in the heart of Williamsburg and it is still one of my favorite places to spend time. It is known for having rare art, architecture, and design books while also have a great selection of new and used fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Opening its doors in 1999, this place has become a staple place for Brooklynites to fuel their creative minds.
They have also opened up a second location in Bushwick at 99 Montrose Ave! This location has mostly rare art, architecture, and photography books but is also where they hold many events. Things such as poetry reading, book signings, even sometimes artist workshops all take place here. It is a great way to get to know local authors and artists as well as people from the neighborhood.
If you are in search of a unique book or gift this is the place to go. All the of the staff is very knowledgeable and are happy to help you find what you need. Also a fun fact or any fans of the show “Girls”: the Williamsburg location may look familiar because a scene in the second season premiere was shot here!
