Is it true that Ulysses was voted #1 gold-digger bar in NYC? Maybe…but I won’t let that rep ruin my joy in this fun filled bar. It’s between a slew of bars on a small cobblestone Stone Street. It’s actually also very historic.
You can discover yourself at the mercy of the beer gods here, since the selection is so wide. Whiskey is their pride here at Ulysses, but they do have a great selection of wines and cocktails as well as all types of bar food.
My favorite thing about Ulysses comes twofold. One is that it’s a big small place. What I mean is that the space is quite large, enough for a large party, but there are small little nooks of booths where you can slide in and be separated in your own world. It’s dark and romantic but there’s plenty of noise and action to make it not romantic at all. Two is that in summer, this street of bars spills out into the stoned Stone Street and is flooded immediately with tables and people sitting at them, rubbing elbows with strangers.

It is in the heart of the financial district but the heart of a financial tycoon it does not have. You can find carefree conversation, pleasant staff, and a general good time.
