Oslo’s fourth microbrewery was an instant success, and a welcome addition to the meatsnacking district. A three headed crow above the door lets you know you’ve reached your destination, and throughout the bar you’ll find stuffed crows peering at you with their dead, beady eyes (actually, they are stuffed ravens, but who cares). The twenty beers on tap, six of their own, are neatly organized on a huge board above the bar. Upstairs they serve ‘crowbabs’, homemade chips, cheese and even whole suckling pigs, offering the surrounding kebab shops some serious competition.
The vibe in this place is dramatically different on a Monday and on, say, a Friday night. If you’re looking for that frat party vibe, I suggest coming during the weekend. If you’re more interested in quietly sampling a few beers, and perhaps meet the brewer, Dave, I’d come on a Monday. After all, Monday is Beer Geek day!
