Bamboo is my neighbourhood favourite for Asian food and for maki rolls. The restaurant is situated in a residential area, just next to the Sagene church, with some small shops and cafés closeby. They are known in the neighbourhood for their tasty and affordable food, and the restaurant is always busy.
The restaurant itself is small, but don’t walk away if there are a lot of people hanging around at the door – it is also a popular takeaway place. Once you are seated, the service is good, and it’s a cosy place to sit for a few drinks after eating.
The menu consists of Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese food, in addition to sushi and maki. They have a selection of vegetarian options, my favourites are the crunchy spring rolls and the avocado maki. This place is suitable for sharing a meal with friends, as well as sitting down by the window facing a quiet street while you enjoy your meal.
