Besides great cocktails, what stands out about Bettola is its décor. To me it feels like a mix of Italy with a touch of Mad Men in the front room, and more of a Berlin vintage vibe in the back. But no matter how comfortable those couches might be, I still prefer to pull up a stool at the bar. That’s where the magic happens. There are few things I enjoy more than watching mixologists in action.
Bettola has both traditional and more experimental cocktails on the menu, and you’ll even find cocktails on tap! I usually pick one from the daily drink menu hanging on the wall, as they’re usually a little bit different, and if I’m lucky – a few kroner cheaper.
The bar is located next to the Italian restaurant Trattoria Popolare, and I like to combine a meal there, with an after dinner delight at Bettola. At such times, the espresso martini can do no wrong.
The Oslo institution of the Triple C club has now changed location from Bar Boca to Bettola, so make sure to stop by every first and third Wednesday of the month for some serious cocktails, champagne and crooning.
