Blå is often the starting point for many smaller or bigger Norwegian bands, but also a place for incendiary concerts when bands from abroad are visiting Oslo. The bar is located right by the river Akerselva, hence you are in for nice landscapes pretty much each time of the year. And if not, just go around the building for a while and pay attention to the street art. I think this is the place where I saw most of the graffiti in Oslo and it has always been interesting to stop by and study them. The inside of the bar is pretty spacious, with a wide enough scene on one side and a capacity of about 400 spectators. The bar’s main focus was jazz, hence the classical Sunday nights with jazz delivered by Frank Znort Quartet. But I have seen both East European dancing music and very extreme dark metal played on the same stage. Here you can see the upcoming events. I love the place in the winter due their wide terrace right by the river from which you can enjoy the fresh breeze of the water while sitting down with your friends and have a drink or a chat. And they are proud to have the best outdoor serving in Oslo. Details about this spot (Show on map)
