The sun is starting to dance high above the Oslo sky and when that happens you can guarantee it’s raining sunshine on People’s. To my knowledge, People’s has the largest outdoor seating area in all of Downtown Oslo, occupying a large portion of the plaza adjoining Sentrum Scene, a well-known concert venue. People’s puts you front and center for some of the better people-watching in the city. They have so many tables that I’ve never been without a spot. Be nice to the servers because they have to serve the whole crowd.
There is something electric about the solar-powered atmosphere outside People’s, as the large, open space is laid bare to the sun for many hours. It provides you with a rare continental experience in Oslo – go with friends and spend hour after hour chatting over drink after drink while basking in the sun. Throw in a lunch or dinner to complete the tableau: their kitchen serves up some very nice dishes ranging from salads, creative and delicious burgers to the best Mexican dish I’ve had in Norway – El Grande.
People’s has long been offering its patrons a choice of good beers and was one of the first places I discovered with Nøgne Ø on tap in Oslo. You can also select from a number of bottles or go with spirits. But remember your sun cream before it’s too late.
