Revolver: kitchen, bar, club, concert venue. This is where the indie kids hang out, some overgrown, some barely out of puberty.
On the first floor you’ll find that the space is divided into a kitchen section, and a bar section. While the kitchen serves up some decent Creole inspired cuisine, it’s in the bar where the action happens. It smells like beer, and the music is loud, and on weekends the place gets crazy packed, but it’s got this crazy good vibe, which make people line up anyways. And oh, the place can turn into somewhat of a meat market too, especially around the closing hours.
Personally I like to come in the early evening, drink a whiskey sour (or two) and chat with friends. But I also like going down to the basement, where I can discover small(ish) local and international acts. Tickets are usually cheap, and it’s a great venue to catch up-and-coming bands before they go big.
