More and more people turn vegetarian for different reasons all over the world, and more and more people discover the vegetarian cuisine not only because they turn vegetarian – but because it has so much delicious food to offer! If you’re in Oslo the 4th of May you can experience a whole day of vegetarian and vegan food – cooking classes, lectures, inspiration and off course tasting! Oslo Vegetarian Festival is a rather young festival, and was arranged for the first time in 2010.
The lectures will be about 45 minutes each and will teach you about urban food production, sustainable food and tips of how to eat vegan and more. You will be able to hear talks on vegetarianism, and there will be workshops and cooking classes. You can find the program here as soon as it is ready (only in Norwegian, so try Google Translate!).
In addition there will be stalls for you to buy everything from vegetarian food to vegan shoes, and you can talk to people from organizations within animal rights, fair trade, vegetarian food producers and vegetarian and vegan associations. The price is only NOK 50, and that includes all the lectures and cooking classes – but note that the classes may fill up.
Whether you just have the slightest interest of tasty food or are a hard-core vegetarian, you will probably find something of interest here! Remember to bring cash if you plan to do some shopping.
