About me
I moved to Oslo in 2000 when I started working after my studies, and have been a local for about 10 years now. I have lived different places in town, and all the areas have their own charm.
I work with microbiology and food safety. In my spare time I do some exercising in fitness centre and african dance. I like spending time with friends – during summer in the parks and on the beach, or taking a hike in the forest and hills close to the city. I have my favourite cafes and restaurants which I visit regular, and also some nice music venues.
What I really enjoy about Oslo is the possibility of doing something whenever you feel like. I also like the short distances within the city, so if you are a walker – like me – you will be able to reach most parts of the city by foot.
Since Norway is pretty expensive, I think it´s important to show the travellers that there are good options for a reasonable price. I also want to share my favourite spots with other people so they can also enjoy this city as much as I do!
Why do I love my city?
- A nice and pretty safe city to walk around in
- A lot of nice music venues, theatres, museums, pubs, bars
- There´s a lot of outdoor-activity whenever the sun shows up! (The parks are crowded of sun-hungry Norwegians with “engangsgrill” to barbecue their food)
- There´s a lot of green spots all over the city – a good place for relaxing, doing activities with friends or having a nice picnic
- The forest and hills are right outside the city for hiking or bicycling
- The islands around town is easy accessed with ferries during the summer season
