Glød – Just what the doctor ordered

This little bar in Thorvald Meyers gate is a treasured after work hang out for people in the restaurant business, and for a reason. The laidback atmosphere, candles and fireplace make it the perfect place to unwind after a 12h shift. Or some heavy sightseeing, for that matter.

The decent selection of Norwegian craft beers also helps a great deal, and the coffee machine is one of the most flamboyant I have ever seen: a mix between a Russian samovar and a spaceship. And it works!

Soup du jour is served all night long, along with Glühwein around Christmas (usually accompanied by gingerbread cookies decorated with words you wouldn’t say to your grandmother).
