Stockfleths is living proof that not all chains are bad chains, and their coffee is superior to even some of the small independent coffee roasters out there. Having said that, some Stockfleths branches are certainly better than others, and this one in Gamlebyen is my absolute favourite.
I only drink their drip coffee, and although I think the V60 brewed cup of black gold is totally worth waiting ten minutes for, it’s certainly not a good idea if you’re in a rush. But if you do have the time, linger and enjoy!
If you’re not sure which bean to choose from the extensive menu, the knowledgeable baristas are more than happy to help you with the decision, just ask! And if you feel like something sweet, Stockfleths also serves up some mean baked goods, and the best apple juices around.
The interior, with its dark wood touches, has an aura of nostalgia to it. This is very much intended, as the owners wanted the space to look like an imaginary Stockfleths in the late 1800s.
