Tamara is one of few real neighbourhood hangouts, a place people don’t seek to go to, but rather end up at because it’s convenient. Being only a block away from the buzz of Thorvald Meyersgate, it’s also a great “back up” if other places are too full for conversation.
Although Tamara sometimes might be a second choice, it’s always a nice place to hang out. It’s got that authentic vibe going on, and it’s real down to earth. Whether you are chilling with a coffee on one of the upstairs sofas, or enjoying a beer on a barstool downstairs, chances are you’ll feel very comfortable, real soon.
Being just around the corner from where I live, I often end up here, on a Tuesday night, a Thursday afternoon or in the wee hours of the weekend. Service is always friendly, the prices decent, and its laidbackness feels like a welcomed change.
