Oslo has been riding that microbrewery train for a few years, the downside being bar menus forgetting all about us wine lovers. Territoriet, a new wine bar at Grunerløkka – is changing that.
Immaculately designed by the duo behind Kollekted By, Territoriet is a real life example that this area of town really has grown up. Look around at the clientele, and you’ll know what I mean. As I have grown up myself with the years, I don’t mind. But for some, it might be a little bit too classy. Albeit, not high strung.
Behind the bar you’ll find the most welcoming, knowledgeable staff – who’s happy to suggest a wine based on your inklings. Or just look up at the large blackboard at the back, if you can’t find a glass of wine that tickles your fancy here – you’ll probably not find it anywhere. The only drawback for me personally is the lack of focus on natural wines.
This place gets rather packed as the night evolves, so my tip is to come early – perhaps order some blue cheese, or choose a vinyl record for the queue.
And oh, they do coffee on weekends too, using the beautiful copper series from Hario.
