Vesuvio Cafe og Pizza – Local pizza joint

If you are keen on some genuine Italian pizza or sandwiches for lunch and are in the St Hanshaugen area, then this little café is worth a visit.

The menu has a small number of pizzas, ciabatta sandwiches, salads and desserts and the friendly Italian owner is happy to chat away while he works on preparing your food for you. Everything is made from scratch with authentic ingredients which you can really taste. He can also add or remove ingredients if you, like me, tend to like everything on the pizza, bar that one particular thing you just can’t stand…! And at around 160kr for a pizza and 85kr for a ciabatta it’s not bad value either.

The Italian desserts are also just like mamma used to make: the tiramisu cake is a clear winner with me.

Tip: if you are staying at an Airbnb then you can also order via the Foodora app and have your pizza cycled to your door in no time.
