This old industrial area on Maridalsveien in Oslo, in theGrünerløkka neighborhood has grown, in the past years, into an area that offers various kinds of places, from training halls for many types of sports, dancing studios to restaurants and bars and concert areas.
One of the highlights is certainly the Mathallen with its interesting food variety and choices. And while I only peeked about at the climbing club or at one of the big meeting halls, my most visited places are Pokalen and Vulkan Arena, both concert places, but Pokalen being a bit smaller and offering a wider variety of drinks (it is more suitable for a drink, while Vulkan Arena is strictly open for concerts).
The places are gaining popularity so one can find concerts there more and more often and their busy schedule is published on the website.
It is also a suitable place for business, having a hotel and a big parking place available. During the summer it is a lovely area to spend some time by the Akerselva river, have a snack and enjoy a bit of nature in the middle of the city.
