It may not be surprising to learn that a group of guys lured me into Wurst. A teammate was leaving Norway for his native Romania and the setting for the “celebration” was Wurst – a relative newcomer near Youngstorget that serves up top-quality sausages to discerning sausage fetishists – I mean, connoisseurs.
Not impressed? How about beer then? Yep, Wurst is the first place I’ve found that satisfies my taste for a quality sausage and a beer-geek-worthy brew.
They offer a variety of funky and classic toppings to slap on your sausage, but had the prices been lower I might have gone ahead and devoured another two or three only to find myself with the best hot dog I’ve ever tasted. Who knows?
With more economy-of-scale thinking they could make a killing on the sales of their excellent brews and it really, truly would be a sausage party for the ages. After all, who wants to pay top dollar for a sausage only to have it last a minute or two?
That being said, Wurst is the best place in Oslo for good sausages accompanied by good beer. They have all kinds of musical and other events to spice up the sausage party. Let’s hope they keep it up.
