When my parents came to town I was looking for a restaurant where I could take them. My criteria were: French cuisine and nothing too experimental but obviously good. I was advised to go to l’Atelier Viand, restaurant of the chef Akrame Benallal.
It is a tiny place, reservation is preferred for the first round of service, where you go to eat some amazing meat. They have a € 35 menu including some appetizers (sliced meat smoked with salt, it’s sooo good) then you pick a starter, a slice meat and how you want the potatoes that go with it and a dessert.
We were all delighted with the dinner. The starters are great. The meat is perfect. When I saw how few potatoes I got I was almost disappointed but it’s actually the perfect amount to enjoy what you had before plus the dessert.
They obviously have some wine to pair with your dinner.
My advice about this one: if you go there for dinner, go with the second round of service. This way you will not have to rush to finish your dinner and leave your table (they can host around 30 people at once) for the next group.
They have others addresses; in the 16th: 18, rue Lauriston, opened only on weekdays and one in the Marais (82 rue des Archives) open from Wed to Sun for lunch and dinner.
