Sometimes the offer of places to go to in Paris can be overwhelming, when all I look for is something simple and reasonably priced. In those kind of cases I can warmly recommend Au Thé Gourmand, which is an unpretentious and charming salon de thé. Located in the Latin Quarter of Paris, the interior has the typical cuteness of the area, full of medieval architecture: not much decoration is needed because the ancient walls and ceiling provide enough ambiance.
It is the same charming simplicity that I appreciate in what they serve. Their delicious pastries vary from classic French tartes aux citron to American cookies. The tartes salées (savory cakes) make up for a good, light lunch. Whether you choose sweet or savory, there is a long list of different sorts of tea to go with.
To finish with a side note: when Au Thé Gourmand closes, you can stay in the area, as the street next-doors, rue de la Montagne-Sainte-Geneviève, is full with bars and terraces.
