Having moved from a furnished flat into an empty one a year ago, I needed to gather my essential furniture quite quickly, but I wanted to surround myself with beautiful everyday objects.
I adopted my enthusiasm for food, cooking and dishes from my dear mother, so one afternoon, as I strolled through the 11th arrondissement and spotted this potter’s atelier/shop, I couldn’t resist.
I’d been looking for plates and bowls that would suit Japanese cuisine but didn’t want to buy anything imported, and this was local, unique, beautiful – just spot on.
The pieces are aesthetically simple and full of character. They are simple enough to be the blank canvas to my food, yet enhance it at the same time. Pick up a family of plates, a bowl or a centrepiece vase…but I’m warning you; you may have to be impulsive here because it might not be there anymore when you next pop in.
Whenever my dishes make an outing onto my dinner table, they are admired and enjoyed and it’s added another layer of pleasure to my cooking experience!
Note: Pottery lessons are also held here. Head to the website for more details!
