Although Paris is often considered the world’s capital of fashion, sometimes this can seem to have the reverse effects: several middle to high end brands tend to dominate the city, and as soon as you look for something more original prices tend to rise quickly. I was therefore more than delighted to find this little star of a shop (“étoile” means star), located just next to the Musée de la Vie Romantique.
Rebelle Etoile sells small, mostly French brands, curated by the two owners – and I must admit that I have not seen such nice quality for such decent prices in quite a while. What is even more refreshing: the shop feels like a lovely apartment (I even had to ring the doorbell to get in) and one of the owners will tell you very honestly what looks good on you – and what not. This all in a friendly, happy style that makes you almost feel like you’re visiting a friend.
Rebelle Etoile indeed tries to establish long-term relationships with its customers, organizing drinks every month. But for this I will have to wait until September, as the shop closes during the month of August.
