I always enjoy my walk west from work on Pine Street. This stretch (8th to Broad St) is lined with antique stores and boutiques, cute little independent businesses that are perfect for holiday shopping. Come here for one of the sophisticated sides of Philly, for upscale home decor or a stop in Louis Kahn Park with a mug of hot cider from Good Karma Cafe.
Addiction is one of those small businesses, an adorable high end consignment shop. I actually just stopped in for the first time the other day after a couple of weeks of walking by and window shopping. Joelle, the owner, is the nicest and so helpful! I came in most recently to look for a holiday dress and spent the better part of an hour admiring her collections and suggestions. While I didn’t leave with a dress, I did leave with a great new coat that I love. It was a quiet afternoon during the week, and not so crowded, and she brought out suggestions and offered her opinion, curating this experience and making me feel like a million bucks!
Addiction has really good prices for what they’re selling, so don’t let “designer consignment” scare you off. It’s a well designed, quietly successful shop that’s waiting for you! Their Instagram @addictionstudios is also worth it to follow for new arrivals and online shopping.
